Chuck Challenge ("we", "our", "the app") is a joke rating challenge game. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect minimal information necessary for the app to function:

• Nickname (nick): A username you create to identify yourself in the app. This is not your real name.
• PIN: A 6-digit code for account security, stored as a salted hash (we cannot see your PIN).
• Joke ratings: Your 1-5 star ratings for jokes.
• Display name (optional): A name for your certificate, entered voluntarily.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your real name, email, phone number, or address.
• We do not collect location data.
• We do not collect device identifiers or advertising IDs.
• We do not use analytics or tracking tools.
• We do not use cookies.
• We do not display advertisements.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely for:

• Saving your joke rating progress.
• Displaying your nick in the Hall of Fame (if you complete the challenge).
• Computing the global Top 100 joke ranking.
• Generating your completion certificate.

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers (Firestore) located in the European Union (Berlin, Germany). Data is transmitted securely using HTTPS encryption.

Local data (ratings, settings, alarm preferences) is stored on your device only.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. Your nickname and completion status may be visible to other users through the Hall of Fame feature.

6. Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided information to us, please contact us.

7. Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at the email below. All associated data (ratings, nickname, completion status) will be permanently removed.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed PINs with salt, and secure Firebase authentication to protect your data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
